During our family holiday vacation, we stopped at the local favorite. My daughter had the kids grilled cheese and fries. She said the sandwich was great bit the fries were not so good. They looked over fried. The rest of the family had ice cream. The Frozen Pudding didn't really have that much flavor, but the Butter Crunch and hot fudge made up for the missing taste. My husband had the brownie sundae which looked good and my son had the cookies and cream on a cone. They both enjoyed it. We had excellent service...Overall, it was a good experience and would recommend it to others who are considering eating there.

How can you be a true Rhode Islander and not love Newport creamery. Been going here since I can even remember. Awful, awful's are a staple must get one every time you go. It's great for lunch or breakfast. Cheap greasy yummy food.

A Rhode Island staple, this is an old fashioned ice cream parlor. They have "awful awfuls" which stand for milk shakes that are awful big and awful good. Go on Monday and get two-for-one, and then prepare for a bit of a belly ache after. Wide selection of flavors from classics (chocolate, mint) to more exotic like Oreo and mocha.

Very casual vibe. Take the kids here for a shake after soccer practice or go with friends on a hot evening. You can order shakes from a window without sitting down at a table.

The food is awful cheap (where else can you get entrees for under $10) but awful average. I got fish and chips, which were greasy and had more batter than fish.

I love Newport Creamy however this particular store leaves much to be desired. The food is basically prepared as at other locations but the service in this location is just awful most of the time. Food waits to be served,  the servers disappear for long stretches of time. If it's crowded, watch out.

My mom and I went there today for lunch. We were very patient because the restaurant was busy because Santa's Cabin just opened today at the Gazebo across the street. I ordered a cheeseburger done the "Creamery" way and a diet Coke, and my mom ordered a Hamburger done the "Creamery" way and a hot tea.  A  number of parties who were seated after us were served and out the door and still we had no food. The waitress several times said it should be ready in a "few minutes". And a supervisor also stopped by our booth and told us the same. After 40 minutes had passed we were told our order was mistakenly served to someone else, and again, were told it would be ready in a "few minutes".

Finally after having waited 20 more minutes and still no food we got up to leave. The manager said he was sorry. As we were about to walk out the door the waitress called over to us that our food was finally  ready. But since at that point it was an hour I told her no thank you and we left.  I was so mad I felt it was best to leave. I didnt want to cause a scene or act like a jerk.

Not once did the staff offer to even so much as give us a free sundae for our troubles, never mind offering to comp our meals. Nothing was done to try to make up for such a lousy experience. There was no way at that point that we were going to sit back down after having waited a full hour. Our patience had run out.  Terrible way to treat customers. Wasted a hour and all we got was a diet coke with one refill and a hot tea with no refill. Been going to the Creamery since I was a kid. Never again.  I would give it zero stars if I could.
